Skincare 101 – The Basics

For some of us, skincare is a topic that we tried to avoid, not because we do not care, but because we are not sure where to start. After all, everyone wants to look good, so there has never been a better time to start. Let us walk you through 3 simple steps to start taking care of your skin.

1. Cleanse – The very fundamental step to basic skincare, is to properly clean your face. When I say ‘properly clean’, it does not mean using the regular bar soap, which is made for the human body. Not only does it not help, but also can potentially cause damage to your skin. A go-to solution is to have a cleansing foam to clean out all the dirt, impurities, and dead skin cell that has accumulated through your daily activities. Properly cleaning your face will result in fewer acne, brighter skin complexion, more balanced skin, and most importantly healthier good looking skin.

2. Hydrate – while most of us may underestimate the benefit of moisturizing your skin, it does play a huge role in helping your skin look good and healthy. A moisturizer is not only for dry skin but also for oily skin. It helps balance and regulates sebum production. It also helps prevent signs of aging, and stimulates collagen production, resulting in brighter, smoother, and younger-looking skin.

3. Protect – Sunscreen or SPF helps to protect your skin from damage caused by UV Rays. With no sun protection, your skin will most likely result in premature aging, dark spots, sunburns, acne scars, and most importantly increase the risk of skin cancer.
